True things
I’m not the clothes I’m wearing
I’m not a photograph
I’m not the car I drive
I’m not the money I make
I’m not the things I lack
I’m not the songs that I write
I am … who I am
I am who I am
There are true things inside of me
I have been afraid to see
I believe, help my unbelief
Would you say again what you said to me
I am loved and I am free
I believe, help my unbelief
I’m not the house I live in
I’m not the man I love
I’m not the mistakes that I carry
I’m not the food that I don’t eat
I’m not what I’m above
I’m not my scars and my history
There are true things inside of me
I have been afraid to see
I believe, help my unbelief
Would you say again what you said to me
I am loved and I am free
I believe, help my unbelief
To your love I’m waking up
In your love I’m waking up

Three Dog Night 1974
The first concert I ever went to was “Three Dog Night” in 1974 at Gustavus Adolphus College. I was in a wheel chair after having knee surgery and since they did not want me to block the aisles back in the cheap seats, they ushered us up front and center…unbelievable…I did my first pirated recording at this concert…Of course now everyone is a pirate with their cellphones…back then it was a big deal. I had the microphones strung through my cast and bulky cassette recorder underneath the wheel chair…I still remember every song they sang and remember being blown away by their musicianship both vocally and instrumentally. They had a lot of Top 40 hits like Joy to the World, Mama told me not to come, Pieces of April,Never been to Spain, Road to Shamballa and more. One of my favorite songs that never went to the pop charts was Eli’s Coming…Check this recent rendition minus Chuck Negron…they still can play and sing!!

HSCC is starting a new series this weekend called “Dream on”….the story of Joseph…
Part of living out the dreams that God gives us requires us to “Walk by faith and not by sight…” HSCC family this is our theme song for the month…another powerful Hymn by the Gettys and Stuart Townend…play the video and follow along with the words.
By Faith
By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation’s grand design
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness
Who walk by faith and not by sight
By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the pow’r of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God’s own hand
A place where peace and justice reign
Chorus
We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul’s reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight
By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear
With the pow’r to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave
By faith the church was called to go
In the pow’r of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In ev’ry corner of the earth
By faith the mountain shall be moved
And the pow’r of the gospel shall prevail
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His name
